There are different types of hairstyles that one can get for herself. Some depend upon the type of hair while some depend on the length of your hair. Here, are some hair styles which you can try for your prom.

Updos – If you want to flaunt your back if your prom dress has deep neckline in front and  backless, then you should go with the updo hairstyle. Updo hairstyle is simple and elegant. This hairstyle is best suited for ones who have shoulder length hair. Girls who have long hair can also opt for this but they will have to take proper care during styling. If you have wavy or curly hair and wish to put on this style then you would have to do pre-straightening of hair. Avoid this hairstyle if you have thick hair as it won’t give an impressive look. You can put a tiara or some nice jewel studded headband in your hair to make it look more beautiful.

Ballerina bun – It is one type of updo hairstyle. As it is an updo hairstyle, it is simple, elegant and gives shiny appearance. Also this style is never out-of-fashion. If you are trying out this style, you just have to straighten up your hair, then make ponytail. Make ponytail according to the position you want a bun to be either at back or on side. After making ponytail, wrap it to make bun. Use pins to tightly fix the bun. You can use loose flowers, jewel studded headband or jewel studded pins to look prettier. This hairstyle is best choice if you have shoulder length hair and should not be of much thickness.

Nape knot – It is also one type of updo hairstyle and weight of hair is gathered at the nape. This hairstyle is preferable if you have long and straight hair. If you have curly hair, do pre-straightening of hair first and then proceed further. In this hairstyle ponytail is being formed and knot is prepared. This knot can be worn as tight or loose. You will have to pin the knot up properly. You can use glittering or colored clips, flashy pins, hair gems as accessories.

Down dos – If you have long hair and you feel good by letting it down, then you should go for this hairstyle. If you put on this hairstyle, you would create a charming effect in front of everyone. If you have thick hair, down do is the hairstyle you can go with. If you have curly hair, then you can frame a fringe form and let the hair be down. This will look very sweet.

Half up/half down – This hairstyle is one of the most flexible one and in very demand by the girls who have long hair and don’t want to do down-do hairstyle. Updo hairstyle is being applied on some portion of your hair and the other portion is simply let to be down. If your hair is of medium length and volume of thickness is also medium then you would like to go with this hairstyle. Moreover, if your hair is straight then it gives appealing look. You can decorate your hair by using colored pins or clips, ribbons or jewels. For sparkling effect, you can use glitter gel over pins, clips and jewels.
