Skin care in winter

In winter the weather is cold and dry. It causes dry, cracking and chapping skin. So you should start taking care for your skin very early, to keep it soft and healthy in this season.

During winters, many people use hot water for shower. It is one of the reasons for dry skin. So you should avoid hot water in winter. You should use lukewarm water instead of hot water.
You can also add a few drops of olive oil or coconut oil to your bathing water. It will help save the moisture lost by bathing.

Moisturizers and cold creams are very effective to make your skin soft and smooth. Use oil based moisturizer in winter because skin does not produce much oil in winter. Apply moisturizer daily after bath and also before going to bed. It will help you to make your skin soft.

Don’t forget to applying sunscreen whenever you go outside in sun. Some people think that sunscreen is for summer use only, but they are wrong. Sunscreen is also necessary in winter to protect your skin from sun.

Your lips and hands also need more care in this season. In winter your lips get dry, sore and cracked. To avoid this apply lip balm daily before going outside as well as before going to bed. To make your hands soft, you should apply moisturizer or cold cream on your hands daily and just after they get into contact with water. You should also wear gloves when you go outside.

Having nutritious diet is important as well in every season. Specifically for winters it is good to have foods which containing vitamin B, vitamin C and vitamin E. They will help you to keep your skin healthy. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water. You should drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily.

In winter the weather becomes colder, windier and drier but by proper care you can enjoy this season with healthy and smooth skin.
